So Far This Summer: More B-Sides
So I took a lot of pictures so far this summer, some with my shitty old camera and some with a better one I got a few weeks ago. It doesn’t make all that much of a difference really though. I mean it does, sorta, but it’s not like I’m taking better photographs because I have a better camera.
At any rate, I’ve been posting some of the pictures I’ve been taking and those are the ones I generally like better or that give me an idea for something to write about. Whats left are a bunch I’m kind of tepid about, and I usually just root around in my virtual box of pictures when I don’t really feel like writing much. Well, I did, and I was gonna, but I got kinda disinterestd about six hundred words in.
Thus, you, my dear reader, have these tonight instead of my voluble yammering.

I just took this picture because it seemed striking at the time. I mean, America is so hyper obsessed with youth and health and everything but not everybody here is young and healthy. But you never like, see that anywhere in popular culture. It’s always such an inconvenience for people to think about. Everybody wants to talk about the benefits of botox or whichever twenty something flawless popular celebrity is fucking which movie director. It’s disgusting.

a train trestle not far from where I live. I did something to this with GIMP, I just cant remember what. Loks like I just whacked it with a Velvia script

The bridge there. Old as fuck. I walked across it and kept thinking i was going to fall through in spots. Or that I’d have a “Stand by Me” type train chase moment. HDR’d this one, but put a lot of cut on the saturation after

Just some stuff, thrown together on my desk. For the sake of art or something. I’ll use any excuse to publish a photo of my lucky carved cow skull rock.. Oh, and all these black and whites were from using a bw film simulation script in GIMP. This one I think is a fake Ilford 400 film, the others are fake Agfa 200′s

I don’t know whats going to happen when I die. I mean I don’t know if I’ll go anywhere or if I’ll just go to the same place the light coming out of a bulb goes when you turn the switch off. It’s a big mystery to me. The Big Mystery. However, I respect the fact that a lot of people think there’s something after life. I don’t feel qualified to say one way or the other. But I hope that if there’s a heaven, all these people went there. I think the guy on the cross there probably would hope that too judging by what I’ve heard about him.

This is the cover from one of the issues of the ‘zine I did while I was in prison. I think it’s issue number six. I put out eight issues, eight or nine, over about a three year period while I was incarcerated. I have other stuff from this issue and some other ones I might post here and there at some points, I dunno. I did everything myself with this using a pen, some tape and toothpaste, occasionally a typewriter, and lots of extra time on my hands.
