New ‘Zine Review: Stacks
Ran across a great little ‘zine up in Scranton yesterday. Really made my day. Since the last time I reviewed ‘zinery here I did it in a video post, this one is like that too. And so shall be the next one (Vicky tells me the new ish. of Sticky Sounds is underway, so I’ll be reviewing it when it’s out) and so on.
So, here’s the review, and you can see the NEPWC (the writing collective who put out this fine publication) blog here, and visit their Facebook here .

It’s awesome knowing the “back” story to all this. Good looking out for other writers, bro. The Summer There Was No August. Nice.
Enjoyed your commentary on this zine. Knowing one or more of the people who wrote for the zine made me proud that they received recognition for their work. I look forward to your insights on the world around you!
Come to the Scranton Zine Fest! scrantonzinefest.wordpress.com!
Yeah, I was going to go last year but I had to werk. I’ll try to make it out this year for sure.
Thanks for all the mentions of the NEPWC! Sorry you can’t make it to the meetings, but I think there are a few other writing groups in the area that meet on different days. One of them is Wyoming Valley Wordsmiths – I’ve never been to one of their meetings myself, but their blog says they meet the first and third Thursdays of the month at 7:00 at the downtown Barnes & Noble in Wilkes-Barre (next to Boscov’s.) The NEPWC also has Open Mic poetry nights the third Thursday of each month at the Vintage (326 Spruce Street) in Scranton starting at 8:30. I work M-F 3:45-12:15, so my job keeps me away from those events right now, but if you can make it to one or the other you should definitely go!
Whoops, here’s the Wyoming Valley Wordsmiths blog:
